Sensible Horse Training has now been at Pond Farm for three years. We had an 80 x 160' riding/driving arena built. Over 25 acres of hay fields to gallop or drive around. Seasonaly you can practice your marathon driving skills through our portable obstacles. Endless trails and dirt roads to explore. We harvest our own hay for the business.
I will work with you to get to your first show. I am happy to coach you from everything from how to walk a course to how to get your horse fit for competition.
I train horses to be safe and fun. Some of my clients never want to leave their backyards. Others are happy to test their skills against others at shows. Either way we have loads of fun.
Our farm is producing our own hay. Now I only have me to blame if the hay isn't perfect!
Horses can have private paddocks or be matched up with compatible pasture mates.
Winter work moves to Chester, but if weather is perfect I usually can be persuaded to take out the sleigh.
The stalls range in size from 10x12 down to 10x10. The outside viewing has proven great for nervous horses whom need to know what is going on. The stalls give a break from the sun and wind with great ventilation.
I have helped many horses take it up a notch. Whether you want to drive yourself or take satisfaction from watching your equine friend advance.
Our farm has open fields, safe cantering around edges. Trails and great dirt roads. Most horses at my farm ride and drive, cross training is highly recommended.
$900 month. Usually one month will get them hitched. The second month really gets them exposed to real life driving. Basic dressage, light road work, cross country and working around others.
Trailer up for private lessons. $50 hour in 80x160' enclosed ring. Other arrangements can be made to ride trails, dirt roads or to get your horse used to working with others.
